Your LJ popped up on a Claudia Black google alert so I just had to follow it.
Hi! It's always lovely to have someone new to share your shiny TV obsession with :D
I love seeing "new" (I'm assuming you're new based on some of the comments) fans gush over Farscape and the radiant Aeryn Sun.
Actually, some years back, I stumbled upon an episode of Farscape on a local channel... and gave it the mother of all snubs. This happened a few times, but I never watched more than a few seconds before either changing the channel or turning off my TV.
Needless to say I had a very simplistic idea of what the show was about (puppets! tall guys with tentacles! leather-clad people running around in corridors!).
Even so, I think Aeryn Sun left an almost subliminal mark on me because, when she took off her helmet and I first saw her on Premiere, I pointed and sort of flailed a bit.
All that to say that yeah, I'm pretty much watching Farscape with the eyes of the uninformed innocent and gasping and being shocked every time things go awry and/or epic, therefore almost exhausting my supply of stunned gasps and astonished stares.
John and Aeryn are probably my favorite pairing ever.
The amount of chemistry they have between them is crazy. What's more, I totally understand why they'd fall for each other, which is more than I can say for most of the shows I've seen.
I love Farscape--great to see that others do too.
Yep. I think Farscape has spoiled me for a few thinks. Its handle on continuity is so masterful that, from now on, I'll have some trouble overlooking the timeline slips and storytelling gaffes that are prevalent on TV. The other thing is that Aeryn Sun set a difficult (if not impossible) to match precedent for the badass heroine. I'll have some trouble not using her as a benchmark of kickassery in times to come. I really, really love this show.
