BRB, updating my resume

So, I'm watching Meltdown and giggling like a damn schoolgirl.

This episode offers a viewing experience interspersed with not a few LMAOs: Crichton and Aeryn unable to keep their hands off each other ("This is the mist talking!"), the incredibly cheesy 70's softcore porn movie music cued every time they come close to jumping each other, Rygel stuffing his face (more than usual), Stark being the only one to communicate with his very lifesized own Barbie doll, Aeryn scoffing at Crais' attempts at authority, et caetera.

I'm also looking at Ben Browder and thinking that he's got it really good. Where can I apply for a job where I get to look badass in leather and make out with Claudia Black?

ETA: John Crichton's idea of an innuendo --> "[Talyn]'s recovering well. He's a remarquable vessel." "Speaking of remarquable vessels..." Um, what?!

Your LJ popped up on a Claudia Black google alert so I just had to follow it.

I love seeing "new" (I'm assuming you're new based on some of the comments) fans gush over Farscape and the radiant Aeryn Sun. Far and away my favorite character on television, ever. I was hooked on this show five minutes into my first episode--that would be A Bug's Life--solely because Aeryn just looked so kick ass.

John and Aeryn are probably my favorite pairing ever.

I love Farscape--great to see that others do too.

Hi! It's always lovely to have someone new to share your shiny TV obsession with :D

I love seeing "new" (I'm assuming you're new based on some of the comments) fans gush over Farscape and the radiant Aeryn Sun.

Actually, some years back, I stumbled upon an episode of Farscape on a local channel... and gave it the mother of all snubs. This happened a few times, but I never watched more than a few seconds before either changing the channel or turning off my TV.

Needless to say I had a very simplistic idea of what the show was about (puppets! tall guys with tentacles! leather-clad people running around in corridors!).

Even so, I think Aeryn Sun left an almost subliminal mark on me because, when she took off her helmet and I first saw her on Premiere, I pointed and sort of flailed a bit.

All that to say that yeah, I'm pretty much watching Farscape with the eyes of the uninformed innocent and gasping and being shocked every time things go awry and/or epic, therefore almost exhausting my supply of stunned gasps and astonished stares.

John and Aeryn are probably my favorite pairing ever.

The amount of chemistry they have between them is crazy. What's more, I totally understand why they'd fall for each other, which is more than I can say for most of the shows I've seen.

I love Farscape--great to see that others do too.

Yep. I think Farscape has spoiled me for a few thinks. Its handle on continuity is so masterful that, from now on, I'll have some trouble overlooking the timeline slips and storytelling gaffes that are prevalent on TV. The other thing is that Aeryn Sun set a difficult (if not impossible) to match precedent for the badass heroine. I'll have some trouble not using her as a benchmark of kickassery in times to come.
I really, really love this show.

I was an initial snubber myself--I didn't watch the show until my sister absolutely bribed me (cookies! homemade!) and came to my house and put it in my VCR. Flailing is a good word for it because I was smitten the minute Aeryn tells Larraq "I can handle big..." Or even before then

I agree with you--it's tough if not impossible to find a heroine who lives up to her badassery. Battlestar Galactica's Starbuck wasn't even a distant 2nd (more like an annoying wannabe)

I gotta agree with you too in that I totally get the John/Aeryn thing.

I write a lot of Aeryn fic if you ever want to look up my LJ, although most of my stuff is posted at a Farscape website called Terra Firma. At any rate, I LOVE THIS SHOW and probably always will.

Enjoy every moment, even the sort of "meh" ones.
